Summer Field Trips

  • All Field Trips are entirely FREE to all youth.
  • Unless otherwise stated, we will leave the BTC at 1 p.m. and be back by 6 p.m.
  • Registration and parental permission are required.
  • Van space is limited, so register soon. If you register but find out you CANNOT make the trip, PLEASE let us know ASAP so that others can attend!

Thursday, June 23rd: Mini-Golf in Stowe

We will play a game (or two) and have a picnic. Games and food will be provided. Rain plan: Bowling at Twin City Lanes in Berlin.

Wednesday, June 29th: Pool Day!

A bus will leave the Basement Teen Center at 1:00. (The bus will not wait for late-comers!) The BTC will cover your entrance fee, and can provide a picnic lunch. The bus will leave the pool at 4:15, and return to the BTC by 4:30.

Thursday, July 7th: Biking on the Stowe Bike Path

We will rent bikes and explore the path together. The BTC will cover bike rentals, and provide snacks. Rain plan: Bowling at Twin City Lanes in Berlin.

Wednesday, July 13th: Field Games

We are taking to the Statehouse Lawn for Bocce, Ultimate frisbee, devil sticks, and picnic snacks.

Please register so that we can be sure to prep enough food and drinks!

Wednesday July 27th: Crafts in Hubbard Park

Nature journaling, staff making, fire staring, and more. The BTC will bring food to cook over a fire.

August 4th: Overnight Camping at Little River State Park in Waterbury

Should we rent kayaks, or just eat a lot of marshmallows around a fire? Both? All fees and food will be provided.

August 18th: Laser Tag

Leaving the BTC at noon, playing a game or two at ‘Spare Time’ in Colchester. Food will be provided. Returning by 5 p.m.

Gardening

Every Monday at 4 p.m. Come help us weed, water, plant and plan. And soon, harvest!

Art

Every Tuesday at 4 p.m. Watercolor painting, linocut printmaking, tie dying, digital art, embroidery, costume making, etc. Let us know which media you’d like to explore, and check our weekly calendar to see what’s up next!

Gaming

Every Wednesday at 4 p.m. Dominion, D&D, Catan, Chess, cards? Let us know which games you’d like to play, and check our weekly calendar to see what’s up next!

Photo/Videography

Every other Thursday at 3 p.m. We have cameras and video recorders for you to borrow, and we can teach you how to use them!

Music

Every Friday at 2 p.m. We have ukuleles, guitars, basses, and keyboards for you to play. Come sing! Come learn the ukulele!

Past Programs

Taco / Tech Tuesday: Digital Art

Tuesdays (open 2-6 p.m.) Taco/Tech Tuesday: Digital Art. Come learn about FireAlpaca, Krita, and digital drawing at the BTC… and eat tacos.

Fresh Prints

We learned about designing, carving, and printing linocuts, wood blocks, and simple silk screens. Printed on fabric and paper; made cards, t-shirts, prayer flags, bandanas, etc.

Think you might enjoy this ask us about it. You don’t need to be a virtuoso to enjoy making art; Art is for everyone! All materials are provided.

Ukulelic Orchestra

Group and individual instruction, and ensemble playing for budding ukulelists. A limited number of ukuleles will be provided. Also open to anyone interested in playing acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, percussion, or singing. Again, some instruments can be provided. Even if you’ve never touched a ukulele we invite you to join. You don’t need to be a virtuoso to enjoy making music; Music is for everyone!  

We have lots of different stringed instruments for you to use. we also have a whole bunch of virtual audio stuff to try out.

Pathfinder Club

Whether you’re new to tabletop RPGs, new to Pathfinder, or an experienced adventurer, you’re invited to join. Dwarven fighter? Orcish barbarian? Gnomish bard? All heroes are welcome, even Human rogues! We’ll supply all the gear, you bring a hunger for adventure.

We are no longer running pathfinder. However we are starting up a DND campaign. So stop down Friday’s to check it out.
