Would you like to make a real difference with teens? We are now accepting applications for enthusiastic, creative AmeriCorps Members to serve from approximately September 2022-August 2023. AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages more than 75,000 Americans in intensive volunteer service each year at nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and community and faith-based groups across the country.
The BTC AmeriCorps Member will serve as the BTC’s Activities Specialist and will work with the BTC Director to maintain a safe and engaging space at the BTC through programs, initiatives, and activities that help youth develop skills, engage in social activities and become active in their community. The member plans, implements, and supervises daily prevention activities; tracks participation data; conducts community outreach; and supervises the space. The member co-leads the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP/sex ed), mentors youth, tutors as needed, and facilitates collaborative projects with new and existing community partners. The member will help plan and facilitate programming centered around healthy meals, physical activities, civic engagement (discussions, service projects), creative expression (music, art, writing, photography), academic support, life skills development, volunteer recruitment, and more!
A Full-time AmeriCorps member would serve 1,710 hours over a 10-12 month service term, and receive a $22,000 annual living allowance.
