We’ll be holding the Personal Responsibility Education Program starting on June 28th and running every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2:30 until July 21. The course is funded by the VT Dept. of Health and VT Dept. of Education and works to equip young people with the skills they need to be personally responsible when it comes to dating and sex. The class is part sex-ed and we also talk about healthy relationships and dating, delay and refusal skills in regards to sex, that most teens choose abstinence, and teaching the use of contraceptives to reduce the risk of HIV, STD, and unplanned pregnancies. We also discuss gender and sexuality in a welcoming, affirming way. It’s important, it’s informative and, dare I say, even fun!
Those who complete the course earn a $100 stipend and we provide snacks at every class. We are flexible to some degree if folks need to miss class due to vacation, summer camps, etc. Please don’t hesitate to call me – 229-9151 x 311 or email me firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ve attached our permission form and if you have any questions please ask! We can give parents a sneak peek into the curriculum and I’m happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
