This summer at the BTC has been one to remember! We kicked it off with our 5th annual Amazing Race, and it went…amazingly! We bowled with yoga balls on Turntable Park, lit up the lives of passing cars with dancing on State and Main, solved logic puzzles on the pedestrian bridge, crawled through obstacle courses on the State House lawn, and much more! In the end, we raised $5,345 and had a ton of fun!
Congrats to our winners, Team Tiny, and thank you to everyone who participated for making it such a successful event!
Youth of the Year
Remember in February when Rachael won the Vermont statewide Youth of the Year competition? Well, in August, Rachael and I set off to NYC to compete in the northeast regional competition!
What is Youth of the Year, you may ask? Youth of the Year is an annual competition hosted by the Boys & Girls Club that celebrates youth who have shown great leadership and commitment to their communities, and offers the winner the opportunity to be the Boys & Girls Club’s youth ambassador for the year.
Once in NYC, we went bowling, toured ABC studios, and prepared for the competition! On Wednesday, all the Youths of the Year delivered their speeches and were interviewed. We got to hear some great stories and meet some incredible youth! That night, the Boys & Girls Club hosted a gala dinner to celebrate all the youth.
Here’s everyone — such an amazing group of young people!
