It’s going to be a short week, so this is going to be a short post. We’ll only be opened MONDAY and TUESDAY this week, but we’ve got some fun stuff planned for both of those days!
MONDAY: We’re going to try some improvisational comedy with a trial run of “Whose Basement is it anyway?” If you’ve ever seen the TV show “Whose Line is it anyway?”, you know what I’m talking about, if not, we’ll show some clips to warm up and acquaint those who are uninitiated. It will be a lot of fun. We’ll have prompts and props for you, maybe we’ll even do some skits, too.
TUESDAY: Who’s hungry? We’ll be cooking up a pre-Thanksgiving meal at the Basement. Probably won’t have any turkey (we’ll leave that for the real Turkey Day), but we’ll have mashed potatoes, perhaps rabbit stew, who knows. If you have any requests. let us know on Monday. Other than that, we’ll just have a nice relaxing day.
WEDNESDAY: The Basement will be closed, but if you are looking for something to do, come on over the Bethany Church, Nick, Jackie, and Casey will all be there preparing for the community Thanksgiving on Thursday and would love to see you drop by to help out, even if it is just 30 minutes.
THURSDAY: Have a happy Thanksgiving and we’ll see you on MONDAY!
Today’s a beautiful day outside! Maybe we can get some cornhole going!
TUESDAY: Nick will be taking folks to the Barre skate park. If you want to go, you need to get a permission slip signed by your parents and have it with you tomorrow. Nick will be leaving the Basement promptly at 3:30pm. For those that are not interested in the skate park, Jackie will be hosting an art workshop.
WEDNESDAY: Teen Council. Come let your voice be heard at your teen center! What activities would you like to see the Basement doing this Holiday season? And, as always, free pizza.
THURSDAY: Our last official Short Film production day before the December 1st deadline. We have a lot of work to do if we want to submit anything for the Margot George competition. Don’t wait until Thursday if you have some ideas or would like to start working on the footage that we currently have.
FRIDAY: Girls’ Night at the Basement! Starting at 6pm, the Basement will be open only for the ladies. Dinner will still be served for everyone, but after that, all the guys will have to go. Jackie and Casey will be planning all sorts of fun activities for the night. If you have something specific that you would like to do, let Jackie or Casey know before Friday.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. We are going to have another short week this week because the Basement will be closed on FRIDAY in lieu of Veteran’s Day. But we have four days before that happens!
TODAY we will be open for whatever you want to do: U-Pick day!
TUESDAY, Jackie will be doing some cool art workshops. Stop by to find out more.
WEDNESDAY will be the final attempt to start SPOON ASSASSINS this month. If you are signed up or want to play, be at the Basement at 4:30pm and we will try to get this thing going. We will also be doing a special WEDNESDAY dinner this WEDNESDAY. After the Basement closes on Wednesday, we have to present in front of City Hall. If anyone would like to come along, to help represent the Basement and tell the City Council what the Basement means to you, we would love to have you come along. Ask Jackie, Nick, or Tyler to find out more info.
THURSDAY I (Tyler) will be continuing the Fall Short Film Project. I have a couple new ideas that I think should make the whole thing run more smoothly. Be at the Basement at 3:30pm so we can get started.
And, girls, don’t forget to mark next FRIDAY, Nov. 18, in your calendar for Girls’ Night.
We had a great time at the Halloween Dance Party last night! Thanks to everyone who came.
TODAY we will be working on the Fall Short Film Project. A perfect day for some video work. We will start at 3:30pm and end at 5pm. The Basement will have its usual Tuesday hours today: 2:30pm to 6pm.
Also today, Spoons will be handed out for the next Spoon Assassins round, so if you signed up, make sure you come to the Basement today!
WEDNESDAY we will be clearing out the garden, or what is left of it, and preparing it for the winter. If you are interested in gardening or farming, we would love for you to participate. It can be fun to get down and dirty while tearing plants out of the ground.
THURSDAY we will be doing a new three hour video challenge! More info will be posted on Facebook on Thursday.
Unfortunately, FRIDAY the Basement will be closed as Nick, Jackie, and Tyler have a training scheduled.
Next FRIDAY we’ll be back for Girls’ Night Next Friday we will be closed for Veterans’ Day. Friday, November 18 will be Girls’ Night.
